Welcome to the Elmer School website. Your interest in our school system is appreciated and we hope you will also use this website to contact us.

The Board of Education has established three goals for our school district this year. One involves improving student achievement through the development of enhanced school programs and instruction in the classroom. The professional development of the staff will be directed toward instructional delivery and improved student performance. Communications between Elmer and Pittsgrove is our third goal. The on going sharing of information for parents, students, staff and Board members will be supported and encouraged.

This summer the teachers and staff have been working on incorporating technology into the curriculum and developing plans for guided reading and writing at each grade level.

All of us in Elmer School look forward with positive enthusiasm to a rewarding and exciting school year ahead.

I have served as the Chief School Administrator in the Borough of Elmer since 1979. Our building and staff have changed over time, but our committment to children has not.

...We offer well-structured educational programs that are designed to meet the needs of our students. The Elmer School staff is made up of highly qualified teachers that are dedicated to the instructional process and the needs of all our students. Our school works like a family unit with each member helping each other. In addition, we are small enough to know each and every student as well as their parents and even their extended family.

...The School District now offers daily child care services to infants toddlers, and preschool children age 3 and 4 on a tuition basis. This enterprise program is called THE LEARNING CENTER in Elmer School and is one of the first public school districts in the state to offer these services to families in our area.

Elmer Borough Board of Education Mission Statement

...The mission of the Elmer Borough School District is to provide a caring, nurturing, safe environment that challenges all students to develop their full potential intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically in partnership with the State of New Jersey Department of Education, parents, staff and the Board of Education. Our curricular programs will be guided by the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards that are applied and integrated into all aspects of teaching and learning.

The Elmer Borough School District will continually improve its programs and educational environment striving to:

Maximize adademic. social and phycical growth for all students;
Instill a sense of responsibility, develop positive self-concepts, emphasize good citizenship behaviors
Provide exemplary curricular and extra-curricular offerings and activities for all students
